Zerobaseone honored to be called 'heroes' by their fans

Not all heroes wear capes, and K-pop group Zerobaseone, who are "modern-day heroes" in the eyes of their fans, is a testament to that.

In an exclusive interview with GMA News Online before their "Timeless World" tour in Manila on Saturday, member Seok Matthew said that it is an honor to considered as such by their beloved ZEROSES.

"We love you guys so much. It goes the same, you guys mean so much to us because you guys were here. You guys are our sunshine," Matthew said.

Ricky also said that the thought of being an inspiration or modern-day hero to their fans pushes each of them to become a better person.

"Every time somebody sees us as their inspiration or modern-day hero, I feel so grateful. And the thought that we have to carry on the weight and become a better person for their inspiration," he said.

Zerobaseone's "Timeless World" tour marks the group's first-ever major concert in the Philippines after their performance at the 2023 Asia Artist Awards held at the Philippine Arena in December.

"We have been looking forward to this meeting with the fans, and until now it feels unreal. We are very excited to finally get to see all of the fans in our concert," Ji Woong told GMA News Online.

"Last time, we had the privilege of visiting during the AAA. And we were overwhelmed with the warm welcome towards Zerobaseone. Now, thanks to another wonderful opportunity we are thrilled to be here for our world tour and looking forward to just have more fun with our fans," Sung Han Bin said.

Zerobaseone opened their Manila show with a heart-stopping performance of their song "Solar Power," and performed more than 20 songs from their discography.

During the two-hour concert, the boys shared some of the things they want to do while in the country such as eating homemade Filipino food like adobo, as well as hamburgers of Jollibee.

Before ending their show, the K-pop stars made sure to leave something for their Filipino Zeroses to remember as they performed Maki's song "Dilaw."

Composed of Ji Woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han Bin, Matthew, Kim Tae Rae, Ricky, Gyu Vin, Gun Wook, and Yu Jin, the rising boy band was formed through the reality competition program Boys Planet in 2023.
