Olivia Rodrigo flaunts Filipino blood in first-ever Philippine concert: 'Proud Pinoy ako!'
Olivia Rodrigo made sure to proudly show off her Filipino blood as she staged her first-ever concert in the country on Saturday evening at the Philippine Arena.
Just two songs into her "GUTS" show, the Filipino-American popstar already expressed her gratitude for her kababayans who showed support for her.
"I cannot tell you how special tonight is. And I'm so, so thankful you're here. Salamat po!" Olivia said.
After playing her 12th song, she took notice of a fan's sash that had "Miss So Filipina" written on it, which was in reference to Olivia's song, "So American."
"I'm so, so happy to be here tonight. I cannot even tell you. You guys are the most gorgeous crowd ever! Oh my God! You're so loud and so gorgeous, and you guys are wearing such cute little outfits," she said.
Olivia went out and explored some parts of the Philippines before the show. She visited Intramuros and ate halo-halo.
"I love it here so much. And you guys have been so kind to me. I got to meet some of you guys, and I've been eating all my favorite Filipino foods like pansit and lumpia. I've had halo-halo like every day that I've been here. I learned how to say proud Pinoy ako!" she giddily said.

While her Tagalog isn't the best yet, Olivia said that she's working on it and that she's doing lessons. "I'm getting there."
Olivia then put a bit of a twist when she introduced her next song, "So American," saying she was instead "feeling so Filipino!"
For her concert statement top, Olivia surprised her fans and wrote "Pinoy Pride" instead of a song reference on her shirt.
And when she already made her way to her iconic moon prop to sing "Logical" and "Enough for you," Olivia said that she's trying to not get emotional, but the show really means so much to her and was very special for so many reasons.
First, because it was her first time in the Philippines. Olivia had always been proud of her Filipino heritage and constantly talked about it, even during her Disney days.
"I have wanted to go my whole life and I can't thank you guys enough for welcoming me. This is such a dream come true," she said.
Second, it was the biggest show Olivia has ever played so far.
"I'm pretty sure I'm seeing more people in here than I've ever seen, and I'm so, so grateful," she said.
And finally, all of the proceeds of Olivia's Philippine show will be donated to a charity that provides medical services to women and girls in the country.
She had been opening a number of "Silver Star" tickets on her other shows, where fans can avail of tickets for a lower price. In return, they will be given a random seat (could be at the far end or even at the pit). The proceeds from the "Silver Star" tickets are allocated for her "Fund 4 Good" initiative.
The Philippine stop, meanwhile, was made to be a full Silver Star show, with all tickets from the upper box up to the VIP standing section priced at only P1,500.
For those who missed the show, Olivia's "GUTS World Tour" will start streaming its concert film on Netflix on October 29.
