Indonesia's Ketut Permata Juliastrid becomes the first Miss Cosmo queen
Indonesia's Ketut Permata Juliastrid is the first ever Miss Cosmo queen!
Juliastrid was crowned during the coronation night held at the Saigon Riverside Park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Saturday.
Thailand's Karnruethai Tassabut is the 1st Runner-Up.
During the question and answer portion, Juliastrid spoke about her advocacy, which is sustainable tourism.
"I try to preserve culture, because I believe culture is an important aspect in order for us to be who we really are. Growing up in Bali, I am surrounded with traditional culture. It made me the woman I am today, and I have worked with local artistans, not only giving economic opportunity, but also giving them platform for the younger generations to take pride in their own culture, like how I take pride with my own culture. I am a Balinese, and I will continue to say that I am a proud Balinese. I am a proud Indonesian, and I am here to make Indonesia proud today."
Meanwhile, Philippine bet Ahtisa Manalo finished in the Top 10 of the pageant.
She stunned in a violet evening gown and a metallic two-piece swimsuit during the program.
During the Jury Session earlier this week, she wore a flowy blue gown and a neon yellow bikini. For the national costume round, she donned a Dyesebel-inspired costume.
She suffered from a sprained ankle during preliminary activities.
Ahtisa had previously represented the country during Miss International in 2018, where she was named 1st Runner-Up. —with reports from Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
