Miss Cosmo announces new venue for coronation night following 'technical incident'
Miss Cosmo on Wednesday announced a new venue for its upcoming coronation night.
According to the pageant body, the event will now take place at the Saigon Riverside Park, Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.
The announcement came four days after Miss Cosmo had a “technical incident” during the finalization of the main stage at the original venue, the Phu Tho Stadium.
Miss Cosmo said that upon discovery of the incident, the organization “swiftly collaborated with technical experts, medical units and relevant authorities to address the situation.”
They also assured that the candidates’ safety remains their top priority.
The date for the coronation night is still set for October 5.
According to reports from Vietnamese media, the stage lighting system installed 5 meters above ground crashed onto the stage and the seating area.
One technician was reported injured following the stage collapse.
Following this, the Philippines’ representative, Ahtisa Manalo, released a statement after spraining her ankle during the competition.
While Ahtisa did not disclose the reason for her injury, she assured her fans that she’s well and safe and just needs to rest before the big day.
Miss Cosmo’s upcoming preliminary night on Wednesday, October 3, has also been replaced with a “jury session” at the White Palace Võ V?n Ki?t, where candidates will be evaluated in categories such as introduction, evening gown, and bikini.
Ahtisa flew to Vietnam last month for the competition. For her national costume competition, she donned a Dyesebel-inspired costume.
