'Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,' more GMA Network programs, personalities bag national wins at Asian Academy Creative Awards 2024


Several GMA Network programs and personalities took home national awards at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2024.

Jessica Soho's "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho: If Looks Could Kill" was hailed the National Winner in the Best Infotainment Programme category by the award-giving body, according to "24 Oras" on Friday. This is also the sixth time that "KMJS" bagged the national award in the category.

"Reporter's Notebook: Upuan ni Ipiw" was also named the National Winner in the Best Documentary Programme (One-Off) category by the AACA.

GMA Integrated News' flagship newscast "24 Oras" and Darlene Cay's documentary series "Unang Balita: Pinsala ng El Niño," on the other hand, were hailed the National Winners in the Best News/Current Affairs Programme and Best Documentary Series categories, respectively.

  • "Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy ang Kuwento" - Best Comedy Programme
  • Michael V for "Pepito Manaloto: Tuloy Ang Kuwento" - Best Actor/Actress in a Comedy Role
  • Dingdong Dantes for "Family Feud Philippines" - Best Entertainment Host
  • "The Voice Generations" - Best Adaptation of an Existing Format (Non-Scripted)
  • "iBilib" - Best Children's Programme
  • "It's Showtime" - Best General Entertainment Programme
  • Kokoy de Santos for "Your Mother's Son" - Best Actor in a Leading Role

Seventeen National Winners are set to compete against other regional champions in the AACA's international round, with the Grand Final Awards to be held in December in Singapore.

The AACA is regarded as the most prestigious awards for creative excellence in the Asia-Pacfic region, per its website. It celebrates works from Australia & New Zealand, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong SAR, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

In 2023, 36 awards were handed out at the AACA's international round.
