2,400 individuals in Palawan hit by recent tropical cyclones receive food packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation
About 2,400 individuals in Roxas, Palawan, who were affected by the recent tropical cyclones Ferdie, Gener, Helen and the Habagat (Southwest Monsoon) received aid through GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to a report by "24 Oras" on Wednesday, the GMA Kapuso Foundation along with the Western Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines distributed food packs to residents in the municipality through the foundation's Operation Bayanihan project.
GMA Kapuso Foundation is the first non-governmental organization to deliver aid to Roxas, Palawan, per the report.
Among the beneficiaries of the project include the fisherfolk community of Purok Mangingisda in Barangay Cuatro who have not been able to go out to sea and earn a living due to the heavy rains brought by the cyclones and Habagat.
Brgy. Cuatro was also among the areas that were ravaged by Super Typhoon Odette in 2021.
