EJ Obiena's GF Caroline Joyeux joins coastal cleanup drive in Pasay City

EJ Obiena's girlfriend Caroline Joyeux is among the celebrities who joined the International Coastal Cleanup Drive in Pasay City.

On Instagram, the world no. 3 pole vaulter shared some snaps of Caroline participating in the annual cleanup drive, where she can be seen picking up and segregating trash.

"She is nice to the environment more than to me," EJ quipped in the caption.

"In all seriousness, I'm proud of this munchkin," he added.

The Coastal Cleanup drive was held at Central Park at SM by the Bay in Pasay City on September 21.

The event was an initiative by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Philippine Coast Guard with GMA Network through "Kapuso at Kasambuhay ng Kalikasan." Sparkle Stars Shuvee Etrata, Nikki Co, John Clifford, Seb Pajarillo and Zyren Dela Cruz, along with 30 GMA employee-volunteers, participated in the cleanup drive.

EJ and Caroline, a German athlete, have been together since 2020. They met at a training camp in Italy.

In an interview with "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Filipino athlete said Caroline is someone who makes him want to be a better person.

EJ concluded his 2024 Paris Olympics journey in fourth place, a huge jump from his 11th ranking in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

After the Olympics, Caroline told EJ, "You are a real fighter. I'm so proud of you. We will be back!"
