Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra to open 40th concert season 'Forte' this September
The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) is set to open its 40th concert season this month!
The 40th season, titled "Forte," will kick off with the vibrant concert "Fiesta!" on September 27, 7:30 p.m., at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati.
"Forte," which comprises seven concerts that meld classical masterpieces with exciting contemporary works, will run until April 2025, led by PPO's Musical Director and Principal Conductor, Maestro Grzegorz Nowak.
Tickets to "Fiesta!" are now available via Ticketworld, with prices ranging from P500 to P3,000.
The PPO launched its 39th concert season, "Switch," in September 2023 and held its grand finale, "Fete Francaise," in April this year.
The PPO is recognized as the country's leading orchestra and is the resident orchestra of the Cultural Center of the Philippines
Back in July, the PPO held the Young People's Concert to introduce young listeners to classical music and various instruments of the orchestra. The free concert was presented in a "lecture-demo format" and saw the performances of young talents Mark Kennedy Rocas, Adrian Nicolas Ong, Aidan Ezra Baracol, and Lizzie Bett Estrada under the baton of Maestro Herminigildo Ranera.
Back in June, the PPO held its "OST Symphony: K-Drama in Concert" featuring the official soundtracks of top K-dramas like "Descendants of the Sun," "Goblin," "Love in the Moonlight," and more. The event was organized by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Philippines and the Republic of Korea's diplomatic relations
