'Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience' Japanese dub trailer, voice cast unveiled

On Friday, the Japanese X (formerly Twitter) account for the "Voltes V: Legacy" project released the trailer for the film's Japanese dub version, called "Super Electromagnetic Edition."

Worthy of all the hype and excitement, the thrilling trailer opens with a glimpse of Prince Zardoz, played by Martin del Rosario. It then transitions to the five pilots of Voltes V volting in as the iconic theme song sung by Julie Anne San Jose starts to play.

The film's Japanese voice cast for nine characters was also announced by the official Japanese website for the "Voltes V: Legacy" project on Friday.

They are the following:

  • Big Bert Armstrong - Kido Hanakura
  • Little Jon Armstrong - Makoto Koichi
  • Mark Gorden - Yamato Kinjo
  • Jamie Robinson - Megumi Nakajima
  • Prince Zardoz - Junichi Suwabe
  • Zuhl - Kosuke Echigoya
  • Zandra - Riho Iida
  • Draco - Yusaku Hiyama

The "Super Electromagnetic Edition" of "Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience" will be released in Japanese cinemas on October 18.

The Japanese version has been re-edited, and some scenes that were not included in the Philippine version were also added. Moreover, the CG scenes in the Japanese edition were improved through a "full-length remastering process."

The "Voltes V: Legacy: The Cinematic Experience," released in Philippine cinemas in April 2023, is the film cut of the live action series' first three weeks.

The "Voltes V: Legacy" series was produced by GMA Network in partnership with Toei Company, Ltd. and Telesuccess Productions Inc. Its director, Mark Reyes, represented the "Voltes V: Legacy" team during the Japan press tour for the film in July this year.

It first premiered on GMA Afternoon Prime in May 2023 and aired its last episode in September of the same year. The series' much-awaited rerun launched in May 2024 and ended this month.

The groundbreaking series was headlined by Kapuso Ultimate Heartthrob Miguel Tanfelix (Steve Armstrong), Ysabel Ortega (Jamie Robinson), Radson Flores (Mark Gordon), Raphael Landicho (Little Jon Armstrong), and Matt Lozano (Big Bert Armstrong).

Martin del Rosario (Prince Zardoz), Liezel Lopez (Zandra), Epy Quizon (Zuhl), and Carlo Gonzalez (Draco) also starred in the show.
