Ariana Grande releases acoustic version of ‘We Can’t Be Friends’

Ariana Grande celebrated the six months since she released her latest album, “Eternal Sunshine.”

As gratitude for her supporters, she surprised her fans with an acoustic and more emotional version of her smash hit “We Can’t Be Friends.”

“I just wanted to say thank you, and I love you so much to my angel fans who have been riding so hard for ‘We Can’t Be Friends,’” she said on Instagram Stories. “You’re my heart.”

“This will always be my favorite video and the one I am proudest of, no matter what,” she added.

As of writing, the original version of “We Can’t Be Friends” has amassed over 800 million streams on Spotify.

Ariana marked a new era in her music career with “Eternal Sunshine.” Aside from “We Can’t Be Friends,” it also includes her hits, “Yes, and?” and “The Boy is Mine.”

Ariana has been taking a break from music because she is starring in the film adaptation of the musical “Wicked,” playing Glinda, The Good Witch. "Wicked" premieres in the Philippines on November 27.
