FDCP to hold 'Films for Peace' screenings starting September 14

The celebration of Philippine Film Industry Month (PFIM) continues!

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) just announced more screenings to look forward to this September in its Cinematheque Centres across the country.

"Films for Peace," a series of screenings that center on unity, humanity, and current issues, will run from September 14 to 27.

The films that will be showcased include "Liway" by Kip Oebanda, "Bagong Buwan" by Marilou Diaz-Abaya, "Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos" by Mario O'Hara, and "Women of the Weeping River" by Sheron Dayoc.

Special screenings will also be held for "Liway," "Tumandok" by Arlie Sweet Sumagaysay and Richard Jeroui Salvadico, and "Lupang Hinarang sa Hacienda Vicenta" by Ditsi Carolino.

All of the screenings are free, except for the special screening of "Tumandok," with admission priced at P250.

'Liway'

  • Sept. 15 1 p.m. - Cinematheque Nabunturan
  • Special screening: Sept. 21, 10 a.m. - CInematheque Negros

'Bagong Buwan'

  • Sept. 15,  1 pm. - Cinematheque Manila
  • Sept. 21, 1 p.m. - Cinematheque Iloilo
  • Sept. 26, 1 p.m. - Cinematheque Davao; 6 p.m - Cinematheque Nabunturan, 6:30 pm -CInematheque Negros

'Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos'

  • Sept. 15, 3:30 p.m. - Cinematheque Manila
  • Sept. 19, 5:30 p.m. - Cinematheque Iloilo
  • Sept. 25, 6 p.m. - Cinematheque Negros
  • Sept. 26, 6 p.m. - Cinematheque Davao
  • Sept. 27, 6 p.m. - Cinematheque Nabunturan

'Women of the Weeping River'

  • Sept. 15, 6 p.m. - Cinematheque Manila and Cinematheque Negros
  • Sept. 20, 5:30 p.m. - Cinematheque Iloilo

  • Sept. 26, 4 p.m. - Cinematheque Davao

'Tumandok'

  • Special screening: Sept. 21, 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. -  Cinematheque Iloilo (P250 per ticket)

'Lupang Hinarang sa Hacienda Vicenta'

  • Special screening: Sept. 21, 1 p.m. - Cinematheque Negros

Other events celebrating PFIM this September include the Sine Kabataan Short Film Festival 2024, which will run from Sept. 20 to 22, and the "Pelikula ng Bayan: Shorts Across Islands" screenings from Sept. 11 to 27, among others.
