Fil-Ams R’Bonney Gabriel, Cole Micek walk for Chynna Mamawal’s NYFW debut

Filipina fashion designer Chynna Mamawal just debuted at New York Fashion Week (NYFW), presenting her Spring/Summer 2025 collection to the global fashion elite.

During Chynna’s show last Saturday, Filipino-American basketball player and TikTok star Cole Micek opened the show, while the first Filipino-American Miss Universe titleholder R’Bonney Gabriel wrapped up the runway.

Cole wore a blush pink relaxed top with an open chest silhouette paired with matching pants, while R’Bonney was clad in a red ball gown with a bigger than life rose accent on the skirt.

“Debuting at New York Fashion Week is both a personal and professional milestone that holds immense meaning for me,” Chynna told GMA News Online.

“On a personal level, it’s the realization of a lifelong dream,” she added. “From a young age, I aspired to become an international designer, and to see that vision come to life is incredibly fulfilling.”

Earlier, another Filipino designer Chris Nick also debuted at NYFW, with Kapuso stars Michelle Dee and Kyline Alcantara gracing the runway.
