Philippines ranks 3rd among countries with most beautiful people, based on pageant results - study
The Philippines has ranked third among countries with the most beautiful people, based on performance in international beauty pageants.
Wethrift, an online coupon platform, calculated a beauty score for countries based on their results in the Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Grand International, and Miss Earth pageants.
In their methodology, titleholders are worth three points, first runner-ups two points, and second runner-ups three points.
The Philippines, which has 16 titleholders, 12 first runner-ups, and seven second runner-ups, had a beauty score of 79. Venezuela (127) and the United States (125) took the top two spots.
Other countries in the top 10 were United Kingdom (62), India (58), Colombia (54), Australia (52), Brazil (50), Puerto Rico (47), and South Africa (41).
"International beauty pageants offer fascinating insights into how different countries approach and celebrate beauty. Venezuela, the USA, and the Philippines' consistent success in producing titleholders reflects their strong cultural emphasis on these competitions," said Nick Drewe, beauty and lifestyle trend expert and CEO at Wethrift.
"Over the years, we've observed shifts in which countries dominate these pageants, mirroring changing global dynamics and evolving beauty standards worldwide," he added.
The Philippines has four Miss Universe titleholders: Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Pia Wurtzbach, and Catriona Gray. It also has six Miss International, four Miss Earth, one Miss World, and one Miss Grand International titleholders.
