Jessica Soho's 'Secret Slaves,' 'Firefly,' 'All-Out Sundays' bag wins in ContentAsia Awards 2024

GMA Network bagged three honors at the ContentAsia Awards 2024 held on Thursday in Taiwan.

"Secret Slaves: A Jessica Soho Report on Human Trafficking" was hailed as the Best Current Affairs Programme Made in Asia for Regional Asia and/or International Markets.

The documentary, which aired last year, showed the different types of human trafficking, including victims of cyber scam and online gaming operations inside and outside the country.

Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 Best Picture "Firefly" also bagged the Silver Award for Best Asian Feature Film/Telemovie.

Produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, "Firefly" was directed by Zig Dulay and followed a boy who goes on a journey in pursuit of his late mother's stories.

The film starred Euwenn Mikaell and Alessandra De Rossi, who both won acting awards for their performances. Other cast members include Dingdong Dantes, Epy Quizon, Miguel Tanfelix, and Ysabel Ortega.

Meanwhile, "All-Out Sundays" won the Bronze Award for Best Variety Programme.
