Tropical Storm Enteng: Where to donate to help affected communities

Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) has brought rains and caused heavy flooding in some areas of Metro Manila and Luzon, with Signal No. 2 hoisted over nine areas in the latter, thus far.

Enteng is seen to make landfall over Isabella or Cagayan on Monday afternoon or evening, according to state weather bureau PAGASA. It is also forecast to maintain tropical storm category until Tuesday and will intensify into a severe tropical storm by Wednesday.

Several groups have now released calls for donations to relief efforts in support of communities affected by Enteng.

Here is a list of places where you can donate.

GMA Kapuso Foundation

GMA Kapuso Foundation is preparing disaster relief efforts to help those affected by the heavy flooding caused by Enteng. Those who wish to help through the foundation's Operation Bayanihan Project may donate via Metrobank, Land Bank, Banco de Oro, Philippine National Bank, Unionbank, and Bank of Commerce.

Donations may also be made through Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, Lazada, and Metrobank Credit Cards.

Community Pantry PH

Ana Patricia Non of the Community Pantry PH network shared that they are preparing to launch community kitchens in affected areas and evacuation centers in Taytay; Pasig; Caloocan; Marikina; Santa Maria, Bulacan; Batasan Hills; Marilao Bulacan; and Naga.

At least five community kitchens will be organized in each area.

Donations may be made via GCash by scanning the QR codes in the post.

Balai Obrero Foundation

Non-governmental organization Balai Obrero Foundation also released a call for donations for our countrymen affected by Enteng.

Cash donations may be made via Eastwest Bank (Balai Obrero Foundation Inc. - 2000 5784 8889) and GCash (Emelinda Sagcal - 0956 159 4733).

In-kind donations, such as water, rice, canned goods, first aid kits, medicines, and toiletries, may be sent to Balai Obrero Foundation at 63 Narra Street, Project 3, Quezon City.

Task Force Children of the Storm

Task Force Children of the Storm, a consortium comprising five child-focused organizations and institutions, launched the "Tulong Paslit Mobile Kitchen" to help youth and their families affected by the floods.

Donations may be made via BPI (Salinlahi Alliance for Children's Concerns - 3180 0086 07) and GCash (Giovannie Miguel Gonzales - 0916 450 1367).

For in-kind donations, drop them off at 90 J. Bugallon Street, Barangay Bagumbuhay, Project 4, Quezon City.

Sandigan

Sandigan, a Cainta-bazed community organization, is also accepting donations for its Enteng relief operations.

Donations may be made via BPI (Mark Jerome San Pedro - 6376 4223 84) and GCash (Charles Almodovar - 0921 818 3655).

AGHAM - Advocates of Science and Technology for the People

NGO Advocates of Science and Technology for the People (AGHAM), in collaboration with Brigada Kalikasan, SciTech Network for People's Dev, Computer Professionals' Union, and Propel - Pro-People Engineers and Leaders, called for donations for the affected coastal community in Navotas.

Kadamay

Community organization Kadamay has launched a donation drive for the urban poor communities in Metro Manila that have been affected by Enteng.

Donations may be made via GCash (Eufemia D. - 0932 462 2872) and BPI (Janina G. - 1909 0884 17).

In-kind donations may be dropped off at 12-A Kasiyahan St., Don Antonio Heights, Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City. You may contact Angeline (0946 312 3989) for coordination.

Angat Taytay

Non-profit organization Angat Taytay is also organizing a donation drive for affected families in Taytay, Rizal.

Donations may be made via GCash (Arvin S. Bautista - 0969 058 2158).
