Kiana Valenciano's new song ‘Sana’ samples dad Gary V's 'Sana Maulit Muli'

Kiana Valenciano's new song ‘Sana’ samples dad Gary V's 'Sana Maulit Muli'

Kiana Valenciano just dropped a new R&B track called “Sana” about being the one that got away, and it’s an empowering bop about moving on.

With lyrics in both Filipino and English, Kiana sings about a former lover hitting her up and saying “Sana” they could try to rekindle their relationship. Instead of saying yes, Kiana is thankful for their past but is over the drama and wants to move on.

"Sana" has a special tinge of OPM and pays homage to Kiana's father, Gary Valenciano, with the chorus of his classic ballad "Sana Maulit Muli" playing in the opening verse of the song.

Kiana first teased “Sana” on Gary V’s birthday on August 6.

In another Instagram teaser ahead of the release, Gary V commented, “Let’s go @kianavee.”

She then released the song on her mother Angeli Pangilinan’s birthday on August 26.

Prior to “Sana,” Kiana released the EP “Dazed” in 2021 followed by several singles. Her other songs include “Does She Know,” “Safe Place,” and “Ambrosia.”

The U.S.-based singer is the youngest daughter and only girl of Gary V and Angeli. Her older brothers are musician Gab and concert director Paolo.

In 2023, Kiana got engaged to her boyfriend, Sandro.

Kiana joined her father for his "Pure Energy: One Last Time" concerts last April as a special guest.
