SB19 on BINI's success: 'It's something to be proud of lalong-lalo na sa amin'

SB19 couldn't prouder of and happier for BINI's success.

In the second part of their special episode with "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," which aired on Tuesday, the P-Pop Kings were asked by Tito Boy how BINI's success is affecting them.

"Ako po natutuwa," said Pablo, the group's leader, without missing a beat.

Josh echoed his sentiments, sharing that they feel happy that more and more people are paying attention to P-pop and P-pop groups.

"Masayang masaya po kami na parang na-co-consider na talaga 'yung P-pop and, of course, 'yung mga groups na 'yan, kasi deserve po talaga nila," he said.

Pablo added that Filipino artists must band together and help each other in promoting their music.

"Tsaka sabi niyo po kanina, it takes a village. To promote something, dapat magtulungan talaga tayo, so 'yung nakikilala 'yung ibang groups, it's also something na to be proud of lalong-lalo na po sa amin," he said.

In Part 1 of their interview, SB19 shared their dream not just for their group but for the whole Philippine music industry.

Per Pablo, the future they envision for P-pop is for the genre to be famous all over the world that foreigners would go to the Philippines just to watch their concerts.

And with more and more groups getting more attention nowadays, including BINI, he believes that this dream is close at hand.

SB19, comprising Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, debuted in 2018. From betting on the lottery before becoming famous, SB19 has gone on to become one of the most popular P-pop groups within the span of six years.

The trajectory of their success has been marked with a successful album, two mini-albums, several singles, and a solo debut for each member. The group is also set to release a documentary film about its "Pagtatag!" era, which will be screened in cinemas beginning Aug. 28.

SB19 and BINI are in Seoul to perform at Billboard Korea's Billboard K Power 100 event today, Aug. 27.

Aside from performing, the P-Pop Kings and Nation's Girl Group will also receive the Voices of Asia special award for their contributions to Filipino music.
