Sanya Lopez surprised by her fans with debut-style party

Sanya Lopez got to experience what it is like to have a debut party thanks to her fans.

As seen in Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras," Monday, the supporters of the actress surprised her with a birthday celebration in a venue decorated with sunflowers and her favorite color, yellow.

Just like a debutante, Sanya went through 18 dances and listened to 18 wishes. A fire works display was also held for everyone's enjoyment.

"Ang cute lang kasi bago 'to sa akin," said the actress, who recently turned 28. "Hindi ako nag-debut ever sa lahat ng mga naging birthday ko."

According to Sanya, she did not expect the party at all and simply thought she was going to a meeting.

"Sobrang na-surprise ako. Hindi naman ako ready. Pero sila ready sila, may pa-gown sila," she said.

"Actually, 'pag mahal ka ng lahat ng mga sumusuporta sa 'yo, eh walang edad-edad 'yan. Kung gusto ka nilang i-surprise, i-surprise ka nila."

Sanya currently stars in "Pulang Araw" along with Barbie Forteza, David Licauco, Alden Richards, and Dennis Trillo. She plays Teresita Borromeo, who aspires to become a bodabil actress.

The series airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8 p.m. after "24 Oras." It is also streaming on Netflix.
