Manila Philharmonic Orchestra to hold 25th anniversary concert this October

The Manila Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) will be holding its grand 25th anniversary concert this October!

The concert, "Lights, Camera, Encore! —  Music From the Stage and the Screen," will be held on Oct. 29, 7:30 p.m., at the Samsung Performing Arts Theatre in Circuit Makati.

Under the direction of Maestro Rodel Colmenar, MPO will perform iconic Broadway classics, as well as memorable scores in television and cinema, including "Hamilton," "Star Wars," "A Star is Born," "Game of Thrones," "Studio Ghibli," and more.

The concert will also be graced by various special guests, such as "Stellar Diva" Bituin Escalante, theater performer Arman Ferrer, award-winning soprano-songwriter Lara Maigue, the UST Singers, and the Philippine Madrigal Singers.

Tickets to the concert, which range from P2,500 for Upper Balcony to P6,500 for Orchestra seats, are now available via Ticketworld online and outlets nationwide.

Part of the proceeds of the anniversary concert will go to The Performing Arts and Recreation Center (PARC) Foundation's flagship program, the PARCaralan Project, which offers underprivileged children skills training through music and the arts.

MPO is among the leading orchestras in the Philippines. Aside from concerts featuring top-caliber local and international artists, MPO has also been involved in various local musical theater productions, such as "The Wedding Singer," "The King and I," The Sound of Music," "Bituing Walang Ningning: The Musical," and more.

In June 2023, MPO performed for the film concert "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."

MPO also performed with Icelandic-Chinese singer Laufey in May this year for the concert, "Laufey: A Night at the Symphony."
