Manila Zoo introduces new lion cub Isla

Manila Zoo and the City of Manila introduced its newest member, a baby lioness named Isla.

The zoo announced the news on Facebook, and shared photos of the lion cub being carried and visited by Manila Mayor Dra. Honey Lacuna.

Isla was given to the zoo by the Manila Achievers Lions Club, District 301-A3, whose members were present at the turnover.

Mayor Lacuna and Manila Public Recreations Bureau (PRB) Chief and Officer-in-Charge Roland Marino were also present.

In their post, Manila Zoo said that they are still raising Isla to grow and get stronger, so she will not be displayed to the public in the meantime.

Manila Zoo is located along Adriatico St., Malate, Manila. It first opened in 1959, then was renovated and reopened in 2022.
