Olympic gymnasts Aleah Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo hold free gymnastics training in Manila

Gymnasts Aleah Finnegan and Emma Malabuyo, who represented the Philippines at the 2024 Paris Olympics, held free basic gymnastics training at the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines gym in Intramuros, Manila on Saturday.

According to a report by GMA Integrated News’ JP Soriano, groups of young girls trooped to the GAP gym and worked closely with Finnegan and Malabuyo during the session.

Malabuyo, Finnegan, and fellow gymnast Levi Ruivivar were not able to qualify for the medal rounds of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

By the end of all the subdivisions, Ruivivar eventually finished at no. 40, while Malabuyo and Finnegan placed 41st and 47th, respectively.

Finnegan previously said that representing the Philippines was a “dream come true.”

The Filipino Olympians were welcomed back home with a grand event at the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

The athletes also went to Malacañang Palace for an awarding ceremony and reception dinner, where they were welcomed by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. and First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

However, Finnegan and Malabuyo said they did not attend the event at the Palace because they were not informed. The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said that all Filipino Olympians were invited to the event. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
