NIKI drops cover of 'Iris' by Goo Goo Dolls

NIKI brought in the nostalgia as she dropped a reimagined version of the song “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls!

On Wednesday, the Recording Academy, the music recording company behind the Grammy Awards, uploaded a four-minute video on YouTube of the Indonesian singer 's cover of "Iris."

In the video, NIKI played her guitar as she delivered a soulful acoustic performance of the hit song.

“Indonesian singer/songwriter NIKI delivers a soulful, acoustic performance of the Goo Goo Dolls’ GRAMMY-nominated track, 'Iris.' Her delicate vocals, layered over a mesmerizing guitar instrumental, create a comforting and nostalgic cover of the beloved song,” the Recording Academy said.

“Iris,” released in 1998, was recorded by American rock band Goo Goo Dolls for the soundtrack of the film “City of Angels.” It has gone on to become one of the most famous songs of the band.

Meanwhile, NIKI recently released her third album “Buzz,” which featured 13 songs.

NIKI will be heading to Manila for a two-night concert in February 2025 as part of her Buzz World Tour in support of the new album.

Aside from the album, the artist also released the single “24” in January this year.

NIKI held her first solo arena show in Manila in September 2023, which fans sold out in minutes. The concert made Filipino Moonchildren dance, cry, and feel hopeful again.
