Beabadoobee releases 3rd album 'This Is How Tomorrow Moves'
Beabadoobee is back to give you your new life's soundtrack.
The United Kingdom-raised Filipina artist released her third studio album "This Is How Tomorrow Moves."
This new album is all about Beabadoobee's journey through confidence and introspection, with themes of self-acceptance and personal growth. The compilation is also a love letter to her younger self and all that she's been through, and also her resilience in taking the reins of this next stage of her life.
"I love this album," she said in a statement. "I feel like it's helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I'm at. I guess it's about becoming a woman."
"I think I'm more aware of my actions in these songs," Bea added. "In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people's doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it's accepting that there's an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it's childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything."
Along with the album's release was the new single and music video for "Beaches."
One of the later additions to the album, the song was written when Bea was recording the album at music producer Rick Rubin's Malibu studio in Shangri-La. Rubin has worked with Run-DMC, Aerosmith, Metallica, Lady Gaga, Adele, and many more.
During that time Bea, reveled in her new surroundings: eating healthily, soaking up the sun, going for dips in the ocean, and constantly writing and recording. "Beaches" encapsulates this special, unforgettable time, with its chorus refrain of "I'm sure now, I'm sure now" celebrating her self-belief and new level of confidence.
"I was just going to put my feet in," Bea said. "But then everyone was like, 'Why wouldn't you just put your whole body in? Jump in!' And that became such an encapsulation of this whole recording opportunity--don't do it half-a----, just go f------ full-force!"
With guidance from Rubin, Beabadoobee said she enjoyed getting back to the roots of her craft.
"He kind of gave me the confidence that I can trust my songwriting – like I earned this position to be in Shangri-La, it's not an opportunity to waste, and it just gave me a shit-ton of confidence: I can write a song, that's the one thing I know I can do," she said.
"This Is How Tomorrow Moves" includes the previously released singles, "Ever Seen," "Take A Bite," and "Coming Home."
Beabadoobee had her first concert in Manila in 2022. The music video for her viral single "Glue Song" was filmed in her hometown, Iloilo.
Beabadoobee was part of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour, where she was the opening act for several dates at the North American leg.
She previously performed at top music festivals Glastonbury and Coachella, and is set to headline the New Music Stage at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend and Radio 1 stage at Reading and Leeds.
