Thousands received aid through GMA Kapuso Foundation programs from January 2023 to July 2024


Thousands of individuals throughout the Philippines have benefitted through GMA Kapuso Foundation's various outreach programs, from its projects during calamities to initiatives for health, education, infrastructure, and more.

Here are the projects of GMA Kapuso Foundation from the past year, from January 2023 to July 2024, as seen on "24 Oras" on Monday.

A total of 260,454 individuals or 65,113 families received aid through GMA Kapuso Foundation's Operation Bayanihan project between January 2023 and July 2024.

Relief goods, hygiene kits, and feeding programs were brought to communities affected by various calamities and disasters, including the unrest of Mayon Volcano in June 2023, the major earthquake in Surigao del Sur in December 2023, the eruption of Kanlaon Volcano in June 2024, and the wide oil spill in Oriental Mindoro in March 2023, among others.

Almost 9,000 individuals in different areas of the country also received food packs.

GMA Kapuso Foundation was able to construct a hanging bridge under its Kapuso Tulay Para sa Kaunlaran Project in Mabinay, Negros Oriental. Another hanging bridge in Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro is underway.

Eight classrooms in Polillo Island; Burdeos, Quezon; and Kidapawan, Cotabato, were also constructed in 2023 alone, while two were constructed in Benguet this 2024.

On the other hand, 120,000 kindergarten to grade 1 students received school supplies and new bags under the Unang Hakbang Sa Kinabukasan Project from January 2023 to July 2024.

In over a year, 8, 428 individuals also benefitted through various Kapuso health programs, receiving wheelchairs, arm and hand prostheses, eyeglasses, dentures, and free medical consultations.

Meanwhile, 63,256 individuals received aid under the foundation's Values Formation Program, including the Give-a-Gift Alay sa Batang Pinoy project, Kapuso Cancer Champions, and Kapuso ng Kalikasan.

About 8,653 blood bags were likewise collected under the foundation's Sagip-Dugtong Buhay Bloodletting Project in collaboration with the Philippine Red Cross.

GMA Kapuso Foundation is set to organize more outreach programs throughout the year to deliver aid to more communities in need.
