Heart Evangelista sells her hand-painted bag, donates proceeds to Senate Spouses Foundation

Heart Evangelista just sold one of her hand-painted Hermès bags and personally donated the proceeds from the sale to the Senate Spouses Foundation, Inc. (SSFI).

According to Sparkle GMA Artist Center, the SSFI President and Global Fashion Icon sold the bag for P1.5 million, with all the proceeds going to the foundation’s future projects.

Kat Pimentel, the wife of Senator Koko Pimentel, received the donation along with Senator Ronald Dela Rosa’s wife Nancy. They both thanked Heart for her generous personal donation.

“This will really go a long way and help a lot of underprivileged Filipino people and this is a good gesture and token na within our Senate Spouse organization, may nagdo-donate sa loob mismo. Thank you very much,” Pimentel said.

In June, Heart took the oath as the new head of the SSFI.

She shared that she asked some advice from her husband, Senate President Francis "Chiz" Escudero, as she admitted being nervous about taking the position.

According to Heart, she has communicated with her predecessor, Audrey Tan-Zubiri, whom she said was "very graceful and very supportive."

Under her leadership, Heart said they will focus more on women and children and they will look back on the small infrastructure projects that the previous leaderships have initiated.

Previously, Heart admitted in a “Fast Talk With Boy Abunda” episode that she cried when she found out that she will be heading the foundation.

Despite this, the Sparkle star said that she is loving her new role now.

Heart had said before that she paints Hermès bags with the "language of her soul." She also shared that painting on Hermès bags is "a safe investment" and can make damaged bags look brand-new.
