Over 23,000 individuals affected by Typhoon Carina receive aid through GMA Kapuso Foundation
More than 23,000 individuals affected by Super Typhoon Carina and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) received aid through GMA Kapuso Foundation's Operation Bayanihan in the past three days.
According to "24 Oras," Friday, GMA Kapuso Foundation delivered food, relief goods, and water to 5,280 individuals in Brgy. Tatalon and Roxas District, Quezon City, on Wednesday during the height of the typhoon.
On Thursday, the foundation took to Marikina and Taytay, Rizal, to distribute relief goods.
Per the report, 1,000 individuals in San Juan, Taytay received aid through the foundation, while 4,500 individuals in Brgy. Malanday and Brgy. Tañong in Marikina were given food packs, porridge with egg, and bread.
Navy reservists Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, and Beatrice Gomez were among those who joined the relief operations in Marikina.
Meanwhile, on Friday, July 26, the foundation distributed aid in Brgys. Potrero and Tonsuya in Malabon and Brgy. Tanza in Navotas. Food and water from Alden Richards and grocery packs from Marian Rivera were delivered to the individuals. They were also given porridge with egg.
Relief goods were also distributed in Brgy. Banaba in San Mateo, Rizal, which "Black Rider" stars Ruru Madrid and Jon Lucas participated in.
According to "24 Oras," about 2,004 families or around 8,516 individuals received aid on Friday. .
Relief operations are still ongoing, although the report estimated that about 23,136 individuals thus far have received aid through the foundation.
GMA Kapuso Foundation will head to Cainta, Rizal, on Saturday and will return to Tumana, Marikina, on Sunday to continue its relief operations for those affected by Carina.
