Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, Beatrice Gomez join GMA Kapuso Foundation’s relief operations for Typhoon Carina victims

Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, and Beatrice Gomez joined GMA Kapuso Foundation in delivering relief goods for Typhoon Carina victims in Marikina City.

In Lhar Santiago’s report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, they said that this is just one of the things they do as Navy reservists.

“Ito 'yung mga bagay na ginagawa namin as reservists. One of the few things that we do as reservists kaya kung saan po kayo may pangangailangan, andu'n kami especially sa GMA Kapuso Foundation right now dito po sa Marikina,” Dingdong said.

“Mukhang nakakapaghatid kami ng ngiti dito, so malaking bagay na 'yun para sa amin. Pero para mas makita 'yung sitwasyon nila dito, mas ginaganahan kami na makatulong ngayon,” Rocco said.

Beatrice said that she had also experienced the same when Typhoon Odette struck in 2021.

“I know what it feels like. So nu'ng tinawagan kami that our kababayan needs help, hindi talaga ko nagdalawang isip,” she said.

“I’m very, very proud of all of them kasi alam mo, ang kasabihan ngayon, kindness is the new wealth and it is very important na gamitin ang celebrity for charity,” GMA Kapuso Foundation Executive Vice President and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog said.

GMA Kapuso Foundation is also grateful because all of the proceeds from the recent GMA Gala 2024 were donated to help those in need.

“Nu'ng nangyayari ito, si Ma'am Annette Gozon, she called up and she said, ‘Rikki, i-divert na natin 'yung na-raise natin from the very successful GMA Gala nu'ng Sabado.’ So less than a week, ida-divert daw para sa mga naapektuhan dito ng Bagyong Carina,” Escudero-Catibog said.

Some aid and relief were also distributed to 1,000 residents in Taytay, Rizal on Thursday morning, joined by “Unang Hirit” hosts Shaira Diaz and Suzie Entrata-Abrera.
