Boss Toyo reacts to those questioning his presence in SONA 2024

Boss Toyo reacted to those who are questioning his presence at President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s State of the Nation Address on Monday.

The content creator behind the YouTube series Pinoy Pawnstars was one of the guests who walked the red carpet at the Batasang Pambansa. He wore an embroidered Barong Tagalog created by an undisclosed Filipino designer.

Some netizens wondered about his appearance at the SONA, which was attended by politicians, foreign dignitaries, and other guests.

"Nagtataka ako bakit me mga taong nagkikwestyon bakit ako nasa SONA. Bakit bawal po ba ang isang content creator dito? Bawal po ba ang isang tulad ko dito? Bawal ba dahil hindi ako politiko? Bawal ba dahil 'di mataas ang antas ko sa lipunan," Boss Toyo, whose real name is Jayson Luzadas, wrote on Facebook.

"Masyado kayong nanghahamak ng tao. Gusto ko marinig kung ano ang sasabihin dahil isa akong Pilipino at me paki ako sa bayan ko. Wala ako nkikitang masama kung andito ako or kahit sinong tao andito. Pilipino ako at me paki ako sa bayan ko," he added.

"Pinoy Pawnstars" is a series where celebrities sell some of their valuable memorabilia. Diana Zubiri, Niño Muhlach, Jiro Manio were among the recent stars who offered their wares on the show.

In his SONA, Marcos received applause for declaring a ban on Philippine offshore gaming operators in the country. He also maintained that the West Philippine Sea belongs to the Filipinos amid China's aggressions in the region.
