GMA Network earned four nominations at the ContentAsia Awards 2024, according to the list of nominees released by ContentAsia on Monday.

Kapuso journalist Jessica Soho's documentary, "Secret Slaves: The Jessica Soho Special Report on Human Trafficking" under GMA Public Affairs, was nominated for Best Current Affairs Programme Made in Asia for Regional Asia and/or International Markets.

The Best Variety Programme is a new category that covers programmes with a diverse mix of entertainment elements, from music and comedy to dance, talent, and games.

Meanwhile, Kapuso director Zig Dulay's award-winning fantasy-journey film "Firefly" was nominated for Best Asian Feature Film/Telemovie.

Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes also garnered a nomination for Best Male Lead in a TV Programme for his role in the murder mystery drama "Royal Blood."

The winners of the ContentAsia Awards 2024 will be announced on Sept. 5 in Taipei, Taiwan.

The ContentAsia Awards recognizes and celebrates the best of Asian content in various categories, first debuting in 2020 during the pandemic at a time when there was a huge demand for screen-based content. The winners of the ContentAsia Awards are decided on by a jury comprising industry peers and insiders.

At the 4th ContentAsia Awards in 2023, GMA Public Affairs' documentary program, "The Atom Araullo Specials," won Best Current Affairs Programme Made in Asia for Regional Asia and/or International Markets for the documentary "Mata sa Dilim."
