2,400 students in Caraga, Davao Oriental receive school supplies from GMA Kapuso Foundation

A total of 2,400 students in Caraga, Davao Oriental, received new school bags and school supplies from GMA Kapuso Foundation just as the new academic year is set to begin this July.

According to "24 Oras," Friday, among those who benefitted from the foundation's Unang Hakbang Para sa Kinabukasan Project is a young boy, Gio, who would resort to using plastic bags as his school bag.

His grandmother, Melinda Belingan, said that she was worrying about Gio's school supplies because the new school year is about to start and his father hasn't received his salary yet.

"Problema ko malapit na ang klase, 'yung ama niya wala pang sahod, wala pa kong perang impabibili ng gamit," Melinda said.

Around 2,400 students in Caraga, Davao Oriental, received new bags and complete school supplies through the project. The initiative was organized by the foundation with the help of the Department of Education Davao Oriental-Caraga, Philippine National Police Caraga, and the Solid Shipping Lines Corporation, among others.

Recently, first grade and kindergarten students in Tarragona, Davao Oriental, also received bags and school supplies through GMA Kapuso Foundation's Unang Hakbang Para sa Kinabukasan Project.

To support the project and more GMA Kapuso Foundation initiatives, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Go here for more information.
