Soldiers in Tarlac donate blood through GMA Kapuso Foundation this Blood Donors Month
Members of the Armor "Pambato" Division of the Philippine Army, also known as the "Mounted Warriors," donated their blood through GMA Kapuso Foundation's Sagip Dugtong Buhay Project this National Blood Donors Month.
According to "24 Oras" on Monday, the division is known to be the only unit in the Philippine Army to use tanks. Commander BGen. Pedro Balisi Jr. shared that the division's assignment is to send their subordinate units to dangerous areas.
In observance of National Blood Donors Month, the soldiers participated in a blood donation initiative by the foundation and the Philippine Red Cross in Capas, Tarlac.
Per Dr. Gerald Valeriano, medical officer of the Philippine Red Cross, the donated blood will benefit many patients in need of transfusion.
"Ang usually pong nangangailangan ng dugo ay 'yung mga o-operahan nating kababayan, mga nanganganak, [at] 'yung mga naaksidente," he shared.
For those who wish to donate blood, GMA Kapuso Foundation will be holding its next blood letting activity on Aug. 17, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Ever Commonwealth.
Meanwhile, to support more of GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Go here for more information.
