'Ganito Na Kami Noon, Paano Na Ngayon?' production opens at CCP this July

The Cultural Center of the Philippines' (CCP) Out-of-the-Box Series is returning this July with a production spotlighting the works of three National Artists

The late National Artist for Film Eddie Romero and the late National Artists for Literature Alejandro Roces and F. Sionil Jose are celebrating their centennials this year.

In honor of the National Artists, CCP will showcase three of their works, namely Alejandro's short story "We Filipinos Are Mild Drinkers," F. Sionil's novel "Po-on," and Eddie's 1976 film "Ganito Kami Noon, Paano Kayo Ngayon?"

The devised production "Ganito Na Kami Noon, Paano Na Ngayon?" will run from July 5 to 7 at the Tanghalang Ignacio Gimenez (CCP Black Box Theater), CCP Complex in Malate, Manila.

"Ganito Na Kami Noon, Paano Na Ngayon?" is written by Jose Victor Torres and directed by Dennis Marasigan, with set design by Ohm David. It follows the story of an old farmer named Kulas, who is detained after being suspected of leading the Hukbalahap Rebellion.

The production's cast includes artists from Tanghalang Pilipino, CCP's resident drama company, namely Arjhay Babon, Toni Go-Yadao, Mark Lorenz, Sarah Monay, Lhorvie Nuevo-Tadioan, Jonathan Tadioan, and Marco Viaña.

Tickets are now available and are priced at P1,545 via TicketWorld's website.
