Bea Alonzo says her personal experiences are ‘blessings’ to her job as an actress

Bea Alonzo will soon introduce us to her newest character, Sam Castillo, as she takes on her first-ever murder-mystery project, “Widows’ War.”

On Friday’s press conference for the upcoming series, Bea talked about how her personal experiences help her understand her characters and portray them in the best way possible.

“Hindi magiging kapanipaniwala or hindi siguro mararamdaman ng audience ‘yung emotion if it’s not coming from a place of truth, so nanggagaling talaga siya sa sarili mong experiences, sarili mong pains, sorrows, loss. Lahat ‘yan hinuhugot namin… sa memories, sa totoong buhay,” she said.

According to the Kapuso actress, there are many kinds of pain and there are also many kinds of happiness.

“May mga pagkakataon na napaghahalo-halo mo siya in your head, pero nakakatulong ‘yung personal experiences mo because ‘yung acting is a journey just like life, ‘di ba?” she said.

Bea continued, “Malaking tulong ‘yung life experiences mo.”

She said that she thinks she relates to her characters more and portrays them better now compared to when she was taking on older characters when she was only around 13 years old.

“‘Yung personal experiences mo, may it be good or bad, for me, blessing ‘yun sa trabaho namin,” Bea said.

“Widows’ War” also marks Bea’s first time to work with Carla Abellana.

Directed by Zig Dulay, the project also stars Tonton Gutierrez, Jean Garcia, Rita Daniela, Jeric Gonzales, Benjamin Alves, Juancho Triviño, Jackie Lou Blanco, James Graham, and more.

Earlier this month, the murder-mystery series posted its first teaser, showing the two lead stars as brides in black.

The project is a spinoff of the popular murder-mystery series "Royal Blood" and "Widows' Web."

“Widows’ War” will begin airing on July 1 at 8:50 p.m.
