Carla Abellana always gets ‘starstruck’ with Bea Alonzo on ‘Widows’ War’ set
Carla Abellana has nothing but words of appreciation for her “Widows’ War” co-star, Bea Alonzo.
On Friday’s press conference for the upcoming series, Carla said that she always gets starstruck when doing scenes with her fellow Kapuso actress.
“Lagi ko pong sinasabi hanggang ngayon kapag meron po kaming eksena, nasa-starstruck pa rin po ako sa kaniya. ‘Yun po ‘yung totoo. It’s the truth,” she said.
The Kapuso Primetime Goddess said that she never thought she would reach a point in her life when she would finally get to work with Bea.
“My goodness! She is everything I imagined her to be plus more,” she said.
“Napaka-passionate po niya. She’s dedicated to her craft. Ultimo ‘yung maliliit na detalye alam po niya. Mabait po siya. Madali siyang pakisamahan, walang reklamo, very patient, and, of course, napakahusay po,” Carla continued.
Carla also talked about her working dynamics with Bea, saying things easily went smoothly for them.
“Right off the bat, walang kapaan. I wouldn’t say naman na swak right away, but kumbaga we didn’t have such a hard time adjusting to each other’s techniques, process, ‘yung timing,” she said.
“Surprisingly, may mga eksena po kami na, let’s say, for example po, fight scenes. Meron po kaming mga stunt directors, stuntmen, tuturuan po kami. But really, most of them, talaga pong impromptu… Kami lang po, bigayan lang,” Carla added.
Carla was not the first Kapuso artist to have a “starstruck” moment with Bea.
Last year, Dennis Trillo said the same thing when they worked together for “Love Before Sunrise.”
Directed by Zig Dulay, "Widows’ War" also stars Tonton Gutierrez, Jean Garcia, Rita Daniela, Jeric Gonzales, Benjamin Alves, Juancho Triviño, Jackie Lou Blanco, James Graham, and more.
Earlier this month, the murder-mystery series posted its first teaser, showing the two lead stars as brides in black.
The project is a spinoff of the popular murder-mystery series "Royal Blood" and "Widows' Web."
“Widows’ War” will begin airing on July 1 at 8:50 p.m.
