Ariana Grande says voice change in viral podcast clip was intentional

Ariana Grande has addressed the video that went viral on TikTok, in which a netizen called her out for her voice change.

The clip was taken from Penn Badgley's podcast, "Podcrushed," where Ariana recently served as a celebrity guest.

In the viral video, the American singer-actress switched up her voice from deep-sounding to a high pitch during an interview.

In the comments section, Ariana clapped back and said the voice change was due to "habit."

"[I'm] speaking like this for two years and also [for my] vocal health," the "We Can't Be Friends" hitmaker commented.

"I intentionally change my vocal placement (high/low) often depending on how much singing I'm doing," she added. "I've always done this, BYE."

It's known that Ariana has had a busy 2023 shooting the film adaptation of "Wicked," where she stars as Glinda, the Good Witch.

Earlier this week, Ariana announced an upcoming remix version of her smash hit "The Boy is Mine," featuring Brandy and Monica.

"The Boy is Mine" is part of Ariana's comeback album "eternal sunshine," released in March. It also includes the singles, "yes, and?" and "we can't be friends (wait for your love)."

Ariana released the official music video of "The Boy is Mine" earlier this month, featuring Penn, Brandy, and Monica.
