Gin & tea? QC bar introduces a new tea-inspired cocktail menu
Who says you can’t mix gin with tea?
A year after Bar Flora opened its doors on Scout Rallos, the local cocktail bar has phased out its entire drink menu to replace it with a brand-new one: a unique spread of 18 tea beverages and cocktails that’s sure to give your taste buds layer after layer of flavor.
The new Bar Flora menu showcases a tea journey that highlights tea varieties across the globe and executes them into three different categories: Blossom Bliss (light and refreshing), Robust Revelations (spirit-forward), and Tea-Tails (zero-alcohol tea-infused mocktails).
Six new drinks are included in each cocktail style, based on Grey Dragon White Tea, Matcha Green Tea, Dong Ding Oolong Tea, Darjeeling Black Tea, Tisane Blend, and Pu-erh Fermented Black Tea.
Here are some of the must-try cocktails from the new menu!
Florchata
Florchata is a play on the popular Spanish drink horchata by blending Darjeeling-infused gin with rice liqueur, raisin, cream, cardamom bitters, and almonds. It’s part of the Blossom Bliss category.
Matchacallit
Matchacallit, part of the Robust Revelations category, combines Sui Suntory gin with cream cheese liqueur, dry vermouth, matcha foam, and a house-made graham cracker. It’s part of the Robust Revelation selections.
Pineapple Cake
For those who don’t fancy drinking alcohol for the night, the Pineapple Cake mocktail of the Tea-Tails collection is sure to be a crowd-pleaser with its mixture of Dong Ding pineapple juice, brown butter, and saline solution.
Bar Flora is located at F'7 Rallos, 49 Scout Rallos St., Diliman, Quezon City.
