Takeru Satoh is White Blood Cell in 'Cells At Work!' live action film
"Cells At Work!" is having a live action film!
The official X (formerly Twitter) account for the movie just released a teaser trailer showing its lead stars: Takeru Satoh will play White Blood Cell and Mei Nagano will play Red Blood Cell.
Directed by Hideki Takeuchi, the film will premiere in December.
Takeru is known for playing Kenshin Himura in the live action films of "Rurouni Kenshin." He also played Harumichi Namiki in the Japanese Netflix series "First Love" based on Hikaru Utada's hit song.
Mei, meanwhile, played Takagi in the live action film of "Teasing Master Takagi-san."
"Cells At Work!" is based on a manga series of the same name by Akane Shimizu. It explores the world inside the human body, with anthropomorphized cells as the characters.
It was first adapted into an anime in 2018 and a second season followed in 2021.
A spinoff of the manga titled "Cells At Work! Code Black," which features a darker story, was also adapted into anime.
