Residents affected by Kanlaon eruption benefit from feeding program by GMA Kapuso Foundation

A total of 300 residents in Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, who were affected by the recent eruption of Kanlaon Volcano benefited from a feeding program by the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

The residents had been displaced after evacuating due to the volcano's eruption, according to "24 Oras" on Wednesday.

The foundation held a feeding program in two evacuation centers in Canlaon. The foundation, alongside the 62nd Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, also repacked food packs for distribution to the residents of Barangay Masulog in La Castellana, Negros Occidental.

However, the food distribution had to be postponed due to the strong rains today.

Dr. Elmer Empiales, city health officer and public information officer of La Castellana, told the public to refrain from going into the city for now because it is still not safe.

He added that GMA Kapuso Foundation will be advised regarding the food distribution's new schedule once the area is deemed safe.

To support more of GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Go here for more information.
