Niño Muhlach explains why he sold his FAMAS trophy to Boss Toyo

Niño Muhlach previously sold one of his Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) trophies to Boss Toyo for P500,000.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the King of Talk asked the actor why he did so when in the eyes of the public, he already has a lot of money.

According to the former child star, Boss Toyo was actually the one who made the offer.

"Tinawagan ako ni Boss Toyo. He was telling me nga na mayroong nag-offer sa kaniya ng FAMAS Award ng child star pero hindi daw niya binili because para sa kaniya ang child star talaga sa isipan niya was Niño Muhlach," Niño said.

"Eh I have five awards, nakatambak lang sa bahay. Hindi ko naalagaan," he added.

Niño said he and Boss Toyo signed a deal indicating that the Pinoy Pawnstar cannot sell the FAMAS trophy to others and have it displayed in his museum instead.

"Ang usapan namin ni Boss Toyo, sige I'll send it to you but pero may deal. Kailangan i-restore mo na magmumukhang bago and idi-display mo sa museum at hindi mo puwede ibenta. Idi-display niya sa doon museum niya na forever makikita ng mga tao," Niño said.

Niño was a popular child actor in the '70s. Regarded as the "King of Romance-Drama" and the "Philippines' Original Heartthrob," he has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including Star Awards, Maria Clara Awards, and FAMAS Awards.

He has two children, Sparkle actor Sandro from his previous marriage to Edith Millare and child actor Alonzo with his wife Diane Tupaz.
