James Reid on most important thing he learned in showbiz: 'Stick to what I believe in'
James Reid guested on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," Friday, where the Filipino-Australian singer and actor shared the most important thing he's learned in show business in the past 10 years.
According to James, it's sticking to what he believes in.
"I think for me it was really stick to what I believe in. I think I've met so many different people with different ways of doing things and for me just sticking to what I believe in and doing things for me that I feel are the right way and trusting myself and my instinct," he told Tito Boy.
He added that sometimes other people will try to say what he should or should not do, but following his core is crucial.
"Sometimes the whole world around you would change and people will say, 'No it shouldn't be like this, dapat ganiyan, go back to this,'" he said. "You have to (follow your core). At first it might seem like things are falling apart, but if you give it time and really stick to it, it will make sense."
The founder of record label Careless also spoke about his latest single, "Hurt Me Too," which was released under Sony Music Entertainment recently. He shared that he wrote it three years ago and is the first time he had written a song about heartbreak.
He added that he worked with a producer in the United States for the song, whom he spoke to at length about his past relationships, family, and former friendships before they got to writing.
"Hurt Me Too" is out now on Spotify and Apple Music, while its music video is available on YouTube.
