TikTok viral 'I Go Meow' cat dies of old age

Cala, the cat who went viral on TikTok for her adorable “I Go Meow” video, has passed away.

The sad news was shared on the social media platform by her fur mom, Elizabeth.

“I am devastated to share that Cala has passed away. I adopted Cala thinking she was young with a full life ahead of her. However, Cala had gotten sick and was not recovering. I took her to the ER where they admitted Cala. Tests revealed she was much older than initially thought by the shelter and her vet,” Elizabeth said.

“Although we were optimistic and Cala fought very hard, she was not improving. Cala ultimately passed away in my arms due to old age,” she added.

Elizabeth thanked Cala’s fans for their love.

“You all will allow her to live on forever. To never be forgotten for how special she is,” she said.

As of this writing, Elizabeth and Cala’s account already has over 860,000 followers and 30.1 million likes.
