A Pokemon convention is happening in Manila from May 31 to June 2!

A "Pokemon" convention dubbed Pokeverse is set to take place in the country!

According to Nelson Canlas’ report on “24 Oras,” Thursday, the event will kick off on May 31 and end on June 2.

“This could be a good bridge to connect my generation and maybe the previous generation,” Pokeverse producer Kirck Allen said.

“There’s a brand recall for over two billion people in 180 countries, and 57 million of those are from the Philippines. I would say it’s a gift to the country to connect to the rest of the Pokemon fans in the country,” Kirck’s mom, Maritess, said.

Jason Paige, who sang the original "Pokemon" theme song, and Veronica Taylor, who voiced Ash Ketchum’s character, arrived in the country ahead of the convention.

“I've been in their living rooms all these years, as have you, and then we finally get to meet in person. It's like we already know each other. But now we have a deeper connection. Face to face,” Veronica said.

“After I sang the Pokemon theme song and I saw that it was doing so well in the world, the satisfaction that I have made this impact is so great because that’s what we’re all trying to do here, we’re all trying to just leave our greatest selves behind and affect people in a positive way,” Jason said.

The Pokeverse convention will take place in the Megatrade Hall, SM Megamall in Mandaluyong.
