Over 4,000 individuals hit by Typhoon Aghon in Lucena receive food packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation
About 4,200 individuals affected by typhoon Aghon in Lucena City, Quezon Province, received food packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation.
According to "24 Oras," Wednesday, the foundation took to Purok Matahimik Isla in Barangay Cotta to distribute food packs and hold a feeding program for the residents who weren't spared by Aghon.
Jenny Mirasol, one of the residents who received aid, shared she had to place her children in a plastic tub to protect them from the typhoon.
Jenny added that she was able to save her son's uniform polo for his graduation, although his pants and shoes were swept away by the flood.
"Bilang isang ina masakit, di mo pa magawa na mapagraduate siya ng maayos," she said.
The feeding program and the distribution of food packs were organized with the help of the Lucena local government unit, the Philippine Army, and Healthy and Pure brand.
"Sobrang nakakalungkot 'yung kalagayan ng Barangay Cotta," said "Unang Hirit" host Shaira Diaz. "Atleast ngayon wala na ang bagyong Aghon, nakakapagbigay tayo ngayon ng tulong."
