Chelsea Manalo on dealing with bashers: 'Never listen to them'

Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo is no stranger to bashers, as she experienced receiving harsh words since she was a child.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the Bulakenya opened up about being bullied and how she coped up with it with the help of her parents.

"Never listen to them. Never let it get into your heart kasi maapektuhan ka. Things will change if you will let yourself [be] affected doon sa mga sinasabi nila," the 24 year-old said beauty said.

She also looked back on the time people would call her names, admitting that she was affected by it.

"I would look at myself and [think] hindi na ako maganda," she said.

Chelsea also shared what her mom Contessa Manalo would always say to her every time she cries because of bashers.

"There will come a time na your story will be heard, and your beauty is what makes you unique," she recalled her mom saying.

Chelsea was crowned the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

In her first media conference on Friday, she said that it still feels surreal to have won the national title and that she's grateful for the love and support she's been receiving.

Aside from Chelsea, other newly crowned queens are: Alexie Brooks of Iloilo, the Miss Eco International Philippines; Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province, Miss Cosmo Philippines; Tarah Valencia of Baguio, Miss Supranational Philippines; and Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga, Miss Charm Philippines.
