Why should Chelsea Manalo be the next Miss Universe? Bulakenya queen answers
CARBY BASINA, GMA Integrated News
Chelsea Manalo knows that she has what it takes to be the next Miss Universe queen.
In her first media conference on Friday, the newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines said that it still feels surreal to have won the national title and that she’s grateful for the love and support she’s been receiving.
When asked why she should be crowned in the upcoming international pageant, Chelsea said, “I should be the next Miss Universe, and to be able to get the next fifth crown, because I am just a woman who does not wear a crown and a sash, but it’s more than that. “
The Bulakenya beauty said that it would be an honor she would give to the people.
“I am more than a reflection of a woman who is very humble of having humble beginnings. And a sash that is really close to my heart because it reminds me of who I am, of the Philippines, of who we are.” she said. “And this will only transpire me to be more radiant because I am a woman of color but I am also a transformational woman that can really represent who we are as Filipinos.”
Chelsea was crowned the new Miss Universe Philippines during the coronation night held on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
Aside from Chelsea, more newly crowned queens are: Alexie Brooks of Iloilo is Miss Eco International Philippines 2025, Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province is Miss Cosmo Philippines 2024, Tarah Valencia of Baguio is Miss Supranational Philippines 2025, and Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga is Miss Charm Philippines 2025. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
