Who is Tarah Valencia? 5 things to know about the new Miss Supranational Philippines
From being Miss Universe Philippines 2024 - Baguio, Tarah Valencia is now Miss Supranational Philippines and will soon represent the country on the international stage.
She is among the new queens crowned at the Miss Universe Philippines pageant on Wednesday, alongside Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan as the new Miss Universe Philippines 2024, Alexie Brooks of Iloilo as Miss Eco International Philippines 2025, Ahtisa Manalo of Quezon Province as Miss Cosmo Philippines 2024, and Cyrille Payumo of Pampanga as Miss Charm Philippines 2025.
Here are five things to know about Tarah, our new Miss Supranational Philippines!
1. A cum laude and academic scholar
Tarah is the epitome of beauty and brains.
Last year, the university scholar finished her degree, a Bachelor of Science in International Tourism Management with specialization in International Tourism, from the University of Baguio as cum laude.
2. An advocate for responsible tourism
In her preliminary closed-door interview, Tarah proudly shared that she has been spearheading initiatives for responsible tourism, such as cleanup drives in Baguio. She hopes to inspire those who also want to be warriors for the environment.
Previously, Tarah was also named Miss Baguio Turismo 2023 and Miss Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio in the same year, titles that showcase her dedication to promoting her advocacy.
3. A proud Cordilleran
Tarah is indeed proud of her Cordilleran roots.
On social media, Tarah has been showcasing the beauty of her home city as well as its rich culture. In one of her recent looks, she wore a piece that features colors and patterns from Baguio.
Tarah was also applauded for her black and white dress by Non Laranang, which featured the faces of her fellow Cordilleran women, Petra Macliing, Gina Lopez, and Leticia Bulaat.
4. A papa’s girl
Tarah called herself “the ultimate papa’s girl.”
Unfortunately, Tarah lost her father a few years ago. She previously shared in an interview with Dr. Zed Magtoto, a medical doctor and pageant enthusiast, that losing her dad and going through life without him is her biggest life struggle. Their interview was uploaded on Dr. Zed's YouTube channel in April.
She recalled that her papa was her “back support” whenever she was down, and her “partner in crime.”
5. She's absolutely devoted to her family
When asked about where she sees herself 10 years from now, Tarah said in the same interview that she hopes to fulfill her promise of providing a comfortable life for her family.
Tarah is also close to her mom and her siblings, who have become the reasons why she continues to fight.
