Marina Summers on Miss Universe Philippines 2024 performance: 'This is for every baklang chikiting'

Marina Summers has once again made “herstory” as the first ever drag queen to ever grace the stage of Miss Universe Philippines!

On Instagram, the “Drag Race: UK vs. The World” finalist shared an iconic moment from the recently concluded pageant, where she got to introduce herself after all the delegates.

“Marina Summers, the Philippines!” the drag artist said in the video.

Aside from her introduction, Marina opened the pageant’s show with a performance of “AMAFILIPINA.”

“This is for every baklang chikiting that dreamed of saying this iconic line,” Marina said in her post. “Oras na para tayo naman ang rumampa.”

Chelsea Manalo of Bulacan was named Miss Universe Philippines 2024 during the coronation night held on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia.

In February, Marina also performed “AMAFILIPINA” on “It’s Showtime,” which marked her debut in the noontime show.

After a Top 4 finish in the second season of “Drag Race: UK vs. The World,” Marina, the lone Asian representative in the drag series, has been making waves internationally with her world tour.
