GMA Network continues to rank 1st among Philippine TV channels
GMA Network is still the leading TV channel in the Philippines!
According to JP Soriano's report on "24 Oras," Wednesday, GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr. announced this during the network's annual stockholders' meeting.
In 2023, 29 out of 30 top programs nationwide are from the Kapuso network, based on the year's Nielsen Nutam and Phintam People Ratings. "24 Oras" and "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" topped the list.
"Our main channel, GMA, continues to rank first, while GTV rank third among all TV channels nationwide," Duavit said.
Meanwhile, Super Radyo DZBB and Barangay LS 97.1 remain the top radio stations in Mega Manila, based on Nielsen Radio Audience Measurement's 2023 full-year average data.
Barangay FM 92.7 (Baguio), Barangay FM 93.5 (Dagupan), Barangay FM 93.5 (Iloilo), and Super Radyo DYSI 1323 (Iloilo - AM) were also named as leading local radio stations.
GMA Regional TV is also leading in the delivery of relevant local news, reaching 25 million TV viewers across the country.
The network also saw a 17% increase in combined subscribers and followers. From 2022's 295.6 million, it reached 345.6 million in 2023.
Moreover, the digital online ad revenue, inclusive of GMA websites, increased by 72% year on year from 2022's P864 million to 2023's P1.49 billion.
Duavit also mentioned the possibility of more collaboration with ABS-CBN.
"The collaboration between GMA and ABS-CBN with respect to the airing of 'It's Showtime' was actually preceded by a number of other partnerships, all of which have been very smooth, been characterized by reasonableness, and have benefited all the parties. Having said that, there is no reason not to assume that there may be future collaborations or partnerships in the future," he said.
Elected once again are the board of directors of GMA, headed by Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee Joel Marcelo G. Jimenez, Executive VP, CFO, Director, and Corporate Treasurer Felipe S. Yalong, SVP Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Director Judith R. Duavit-Vazquez, Director Laura Westfall, and Independent Directors Former Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban and Dr. Jaime C. Laya.
