Filipina-Kiwi actress Franki Russell appointed as Miss Universe New Zealand
Filipina-Kiwi actress Franki Russell is set to represent New Zealand in this year's Miss Universe pageant.
On Instagram, Thursday, Dubai-based magazine XPEDITION announced Franki's appointment.
"Recognized as a reality star and actress in the Philippines, the half-Kiwi, half-Filipina beauty is eager to leverage her new platform to address a prevalent concern among youth in New Zealand and worldwide - cyberbullying," the magazine said.
XPEDITION is headed by its editor-in-chief, Josh Yugen, who owns multiple franchises of the prestigious pageant.
Among Franki's recent projects include the movie "Pabuya" with her ex-boyfriend, Diego Loyzaga.
Meanwhile, the Philippines is also set to crown a new Miss Universe Philippines queen soon.
The organization has been introducing this year's candidates on social media, releasing their evening gown photos, official headshots, swimsuit photos, and also their introduction videos.
