Weng Salvacion reveals Mike Enriquez gave the name ‘Dobol Weng sa Dobol B’ to her radio program with Weng Dela Peña

Weng Salvacion and Weng Dela Peña, the “Dobol Weng sa Dobol B” tandem of GMA Netwotrk’s radio arm DZBB, looked back on their on-air partnership.

In the latest episode of the “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel” podcast, Salvacion said it all started in 2021.

“Panahon ng pandemic,” she said. “At ang unang pangalan ng team namin ay ‘Dobol U Dobol Team’.”

According to Salvacion, it was Mike Enriquez who rebranded their program name into “Dobol Weng sa Dobol B.”

“Si Sir Mike, sabi niya, ‘Hindi, baguhin natin ang pangalan, mas tatatak 'yung ‘Dobol Weng sa Dobol B’,” the radio journalist recalled. “So ni-rename ni sir Mike ‘yung programa namin.”

Salvacion has been a Kapuso journalist for 27 years, while Dela Peña joined DZBB in 2019.

“Unang ere ko with sir Mike ay Christmas,” Dela Peña said. “So, four years na ako.”

In the same podcast, the radio tandem also gave insights on their usual days when they’re not on-air.
